A picture would have been worth a thousand words

Today when I picked Jack & Kate up from daycare the director was waiting for me with an "incident report". Now typically this means one of two things, either Jack was playing "super bunny" (a Max & Ruby reference) on the playground and took a nasty tumble, or one of his classmates tried to have him for lunch... (he has two notorious biters for classmates). As of then, he had never perpetrated an incident.
I was told that Jack & two of his classmates (names withheld by the director to protect their identity) apparently decided to disrobe while out on the playground. The icing on this cake however was that they were inside one of their little clubhouses and the teachers could not be sure just how long they were naked for.
Jack of course, told me immediately that he had been "playing no-no's" on the playground with Pheonix and Reese. These were the first words out of his mouth when I saw him - apparently the guilt was just too much for him. He had to confess right away.

Now, was Jack the perpetrator? I will never know for sure, although I do know that we were late for drop off today because while I buckled Kate into her car seat, someone else had disrobed and was running naked through the house.

Green Thumb = One Red Tomato... finally!

Today we found a tomato in Jack's garden that he could actually eat. Despite the fact that he claims to not like tomatoes, he announced "Jack like it!" Finally, we enjoy the fruits of our labor.
(Truthfully, we didn't labor at all on it. We bought the plant at Lowes. This was slightly confusing for Jack because he thought you needed seeds to grow a garden... Then we simply stuck it in a pot with some Basil and occasionally watered it. Possibly we would have had tomatoes before now had we actually done any work, but we still consider it a huge success! )

Kate sleeps

I seem to have more about Jack on the blog, I don't know why. Perhaps because Kate spends much of her time sleeping and I hate to interrupt her...

Kate after swimming lessons;

Kate after an evening stroll with Mom. Good thing she was already in her jammies...

Jack & Bongo

Bongo (a.k.a. Grandma) came to play with Jack & Kate today. Kate slept most of the time, but Jack had a great time coloring with Bongo on the porch. The glasses, I'm sure, helped him understand what his grandmother was drawing....

Sleepy Kate

Kate, so busy practicing standing instead of napping, wore herself out. This is how I found her when I went to check in on her...

Jack & Kate

In this context, Kate is the frog that Jack & his dad caught this weekend. Jack gets very excited about lizards, frogs, birds, squirrels, etc. This frog however, hung around for a while. Jack got somewhat attached to him and named him Kate.
Sweet huh? This is interesting because he does not call his sister Kate, he calls her GaGa (why we don't know), but the frog was Kate, clear as day.
