Milestones...

May has been a month of milestones... Kate, after careful tutoring by Jack is crawling & standing. A great accomplishment for her, although it has changed my life considerably... some new ways for her and Jack to get into trouble!

Jack, not to be out done by his sister is potty trained - a very welcome accomplishment. His teachers did a great job working with him at preschool and he was very motivated by his friends that he saw using the potty.

Happy Memorial Day

We decided to spend Memorial Day at home, relaxing. The weather was great - we went out in the boat & Jack got to try tubing for the very first time. I'm not sure how much fun he had - he looked more confused than happy.

Kate prefers dry land to the boat at this point - it's much easier for her to practice standing, her new favorite activity... look at those thighs!

oops... Kate takes a tumble.

In search of new entertainment

Now that the dock is built, Jack is on the hunt for a new source of entertainment. In the five minutes it took for me to get Kate dressed...

...Jack did this to Kate's closet -

Sadly, he was quite proud of his work. "All clean" he said very happily.

How can you argue with that look of achievement?

Jack builds a dock

We recently replaced our boat dock. The process - the demolition and removal of our old dock, and the construction of a new dock - took a little over 2 weeks. Jack watched the process daily from our screen porch yelling "Hi Boys" every time one of the workers passed by - and they passed often going back and forth through our side yard.

In the house, Jack liked to reenact "dock building" with whatever materials he could find. Often he used all of the books from his bookshelves, carrying them high over his head into the living room. His work was very meticulous - the finished product always quite impressive.

Mothers Day

What a great day! Kate was dressed up so pretty for brunch, but Jack would not let anyone take his picture.
