Bloopers

If you received our Christmas card, you might recognize the photo above.
Don't let the two giant hands throw you off - I had to crop those out.
What might be even more entertaining though....
The pictures that came 'before'
To be clear, the photo above is the last photo I took that day.
After that one, my battery died.
I think Chaos and Mayhem came calling at that point too.
Here are the outtakes....
look how pretty Kate's smiling... too bad her brother wasn't on board
This is... it's funny to not look at Mom when she wants us to
hmm.. not sure what's going on here
ok mom, we'll try to smile. Jack thinking, if Kate does it, I'll do it.
And it goes on and on....

Too bad this one is blurry...

Jack?
no Kate?
Next year I either need a professional, or I need to learn how to photoshop.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas!

Just before Christmas, we took the kids to Disney
For the FIRST time EVER.
I'm not sure how we made it almost 5 years with out taking them...
But we did.
December 10th
And much to our suprise
we had a BLAST!!!
Jack waiting in line to drive the go karts

We were skeptical
Especially when we realized that Disney's Very Merry Christmas
started at 7pm
and ended after midnight.
Bedtime in our house is 7:30ish.
I'm not going to lie.
We forgot the stroller
(who remembered it's an easy mile from the back of the park to the car)
a long mile when it's almost midnight and your kids are tired
So, we did what any loving parents would do
We carried them
Then, we bought them cotton candy.
The sugar gave them just enough energy for us to rest our aching arms and backs.
For a minute or two.

Our friend Buzz Lightyear Jack driving his go kart - he was psyched!
Kate with her go kart chauffeur
Scott, going for the gold ring

Jack learned something here -
In the picture above, we learned that if you lean too far in to the display area
An alarm goes off
That's right
While I took a picture, my child climbed too far into the display area and set off an alarm.
Who knew Mickey and Minnie's house would be rigged for danger like that?

Same house, before alarm.

Kate in Minnie Mouse's chair
and then,
The highlight of the night.
The Parade.
At one point, more people may have been looking at Kate than were actually looking at the parade.

Once she caught sight of the princesses, that girl was screaming with joy.
She was waving her arm as fast as she could.
and yelling
HI PRINCESS
HI PRINCESS
HI PRINCESS
I was actually a little afraid that she might pee on Scott.
I've never seen her that excited.

The parade was spectacular and well worth the wait.

The next morning, the first question out of both Jack & Kate's mouth-

When can we go again?
